Court rejected priest’s appeal to recover UAH 200 thousands from local newspaper

The plaintiff has repeatedly failed to appear at hearings, by sending a request for consideration the case without his participation. Accordingly, the hearing was held on February 4 without Ilariy. Judge Ljubomir Ostrovsky heard the defense of "Reporter" newspaper, and made decision to deny the satisfaction of the claim.

On October 17, 2011, Reporter edition received a lawsuit at 200 thousand hryvnias from local priest Ilariy, in connection with the publication of an article entitled "Who should we believe? Learn more about the life and fraud of "archimandrite" in the investigation of "Reporter."

The article says that about 1.5 years ago, in Novoshyn village of the Dolinsky district, there arrived an unknown priest, who built a chapel in the garden of one of the local residents, and began healing. Who sent him there - nobody knows."
