The Court of appeal in Kyiv has postponed consideration of a complaint about blocking of 18 sites to September 9, due to absence of a prosecutor and an appellant, as Human Rights Center ZMINA reported.
The judge Tetytiana Rosik told the prosecutor and the appellant Leonid Belkin filed a motion asking to reschedule the hearing for another day.
The lawyer of LLC “Ukrainian Mediadim” Yulia Sidorova, the representative of PJSC “RK Ukraine” Natalia Altoshina and the lawyer of the owner of the blogging platform Enigma.ua Oleksandr Burmagin spoke for consideration of the case in absence of those persons. Natalia Altoshina stressed that the prosecutor did not provide any evidence of his employment time.
“The appeal against arrest does not suspend blocking procedure. I have just got message from the principal saying the project they had worked out for two years, “was snuffing out”. It means they lose readers and advertisers, ” the lawyer said.
The panel of judges, having deliberated on the spot, adjourned the sitting to 9:30 on 9 September. Tetyana Rosik argued that the meeting had to be postponed for “rational reasons”.
“The court has more questions to the prosecutor than to the appellants, ”she said.
