Court again binds prosecutor's office to restore case on impediment to journalists of "Skhemy"

01.07.2016, 21:34

For the second time, the court binds the Military prosecutor's office to resume the criminal investigation procedure on the fact of impediment by the officers of the Security Service of Ukraine to the professional activities of the filming crew of the program "Skhemy" (the joint project of Radio Liberty and the UA: First TV channel) on October 2, 2015. This was reported by the "Skhemy" journalist Mykhailo Tkach on his  Facebook page (he was one of the victims of the crime), “Detector media” reports.

Earlier, on December 31, the prosecutor's office closed the case, failing to see a legally defined crime in this footage (journalists were taking footage for their material on corruption in the Security Service, and were detained with use of force, their equipment was damaged). In April, the court judged to re-open the case, yet the Military prosecutor's office closed it again right on the next day.
