Company of MPs Dubnevych is suing ZIK after article about cooperation with conversion centers

The LLC “Korporatsia KRT”, founded by MPs Bohdan and Yaroslav Dubnevych, is suing the informational agency ZIK to restore their honor, dignity, and business reputation after ZIK published a material on relations between their company and four illegal currency exchange centers, ZIK reports.

The article in question, “The envelope is opened,” based on journalist investigations, was published by the informational agency ZIK on December 18, 2015,  and exposed the systemic activities of the so-called ‘conversion centers’ ,  organized in Kyiv. In particular, it discussed “Strilkov center”, which in the period of 2011-2016 used to include or includes currently more than 170 “day-fly enterprises.”  These enterprises provide services of illegal conversion of the funds into cash or conduct fictitious sale operations with enterprises that do run actual business. In the course of investigation of activities of such a conversion center, the ZIK journalists uncovered the schemes and manipulations with the state funds, to which the Dubnevych-owned company LLC “Korporatsia KRT” was connected.

Under different political regimes, the LLC “Korporatsia KRT” would win state tenders for repair works for the state railway enterprise ‘Ukrzaliznytsia’, which together with its structural subdivisions would transfer humongous funds to Dubnevych brothers’ Korporatsia KRT’s accounts. Then, the money would be transferred to the accounts of its “day-fly enterprises” and later siphoned abroad or elsewhere.   

After this material was made public the corporation’s management filed a lawsuit against ZIK to the Economic Court of Lvivska oblast.
