The parliamentary Commissioner for Human Rights received 123 complaints of violations of the right to access public information from Ternopil oblast in the period of 1 January – 1 October 2025, reports Ivan Verveyko, head of the Commissioner’s secretariat, to Iryna Nebesna, regional representative of the Institute of Mass Information.

Verveyko said they could not disclose whom most of the complaints were against since they did not keep such records.

As reported earlier, the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights received 120 appeals from Ternopil oblast reporting violations of the right to access public information in 2024. In 2023, 94 complaints were received, with the largest number being against OJSC Ternopiloblenergo (six), the State Tax Service of Ukraine (three), the Ministry of Health (three) and local governments: the Ternopil City Council (7), Velyka Berezovytsia village council (13), and Borshchiv City Council (6).
