On the night of January 3, "Holos Ukrainy" chief editor Anatoliy Horlov died at the age of 75. This was announced on the publication's website.

"Horlov managed to preserve the dignity of 'Holos Ukrainy' through those stand-alone years which were not the best for democratic press. Horlov remembered every little thing – whom, when and what with he entrusted. But at the same time, he was not spiteful. You could argue with him — and there were no 'workplace' consequences for you. I remember Horlov saying: 'We will be gone, but the newspaper will be there!'" notes the newspaper's staff in  Anatoliy Horlov's memory.

Anatoliy Horlov headed "Holos Ukrainy" since 2002. He was born in Lyubimivka village, Zaporizhzhia oblast. Graduated from Taras Shevchenko Kyiv State University, majoring in journalism. His career in journalism lasted for over 42 years.

In 1996, he was awarded the honorary title "Honored Journalist of Ukraine".
