Channel 5 suspended broadcasting due to phone call about bomb
Broadcasting of Channel 5 has been temporarily suspended due to another message about a bomb in the building. This was reported on the TV channel’s website.
The call was received at 10:30 a.m. An unknown person informed about explosives in the building and said the building would be blown up in an hour. The number the call was made from was not identified. All staff was evacuated, the police and rescue teams arrived, and the bomb squad swept the premises.
No explosives were found.
In July, Channel 5 received six phone calls about a bomb in the building.
In all cases there were no explosives found, but the staff was evacuated nevertheless, and the broadcasting was suspended.
On July 15, the officers of the Security Service of Ukraine detained in Kyiv a man suspected of making phone calls to the police about bombs in the building of Channel 5. He had a mntal disorder.
