The apartment of Channel 5 cameraman Oleksandr Pronskyi was damaged in the Russian combined strike on Dnipro city in the morning of 20 September, Pronskyi reported to the Institute of Mass Information representative Kateryna Lysiuk.

Oleksandr and his wife were home during the strike. Hearing the first explosions, they immediately hid in the hallway, putting two walls between themselves and the outdoors.

“We immediately picked up the cats and took cover in the hallway, away from the windows. We heard many explosions… And the last two hit our house! It was very loud, everything was sent flying: glass shards, pieces of something… But what matters is that we — me, my wife, our cats — survived! God had mercy. We live on…” said Oleksandr Pronskyi.

All the windows in Pronskyi’s apartment were broken, the door was warped, the furniture and appliances were damaged by the blast wave and the debris. Due to the fire that spread to the floors above, everything was flooded with water.

“We live, the rest is trifles! We feel sorry for our neighbors… After the strike, a fire broke out on the fourth and fifth floors… It’s terrible there: there are both injured and, unfortunately, dead. We’re very sorry for the people, they were good people,” said the Channel 5 cameraman.

Oleksandr, his wife, and the cats are staying with their relatives because the apartment is uninhabitable.

Russian troops targeted Dnipro city with a large-scale air strike on 20 September, reports the oblast police. Multiple fires broke out. A multi-story residential building was damaged, as well as private homes, outbuildings, garages, and a company’s premises. The rescue operation and the debris clean-up are underway.
