Cameraman from Kharkiv Dmytro Shypovsky killed in action
Dmytro Shypovsky, cameraman for the "Privat TV: Kharkov" TV company and Al Jazeera who defended Ukraine in the ranks of the Armed Forces, was killed in Donetsk oblast.
Dmytro's friend Stanislav Chepurko informed IMI's regional representative about this, and Privat TV: Kharkov wrote about this on their Facebook page.
Dmytro died on September 21, killed by mortar fire near Druzhba village, Donetsk oblast.
Dmytro worked in Kharkiv until the end of the 90's. He filmed children's programs such as "Ditvora," "Vechirnya Kazka," "V Hostyakh u Dryomy." He was an active participant in the Revolution of Dignity.
Since March of this year, Dmytro has been defending Ukraine in the ranks of the Armed Forces.
Dmitry's friend Stanislav Chepurko recalls: "It's hard to say 'he was.' It's hard to believe that he is gone. He was not a public person. Finding a photo of him, even with his frieds, is very difficult. He always made unconventional decisions while shooting."
After moving to the capital, Dmytro worked for Al Jazeera. He took part in many TV and film projects.
Dmitry was a patriot of his country. "If they invade and occupy us, I will become a guerrilla," Stanislav Chepurko quotes his fallen friend.
According to IMI, Dmytro Shypovsky became the 39th media worker to die as a result of Russia's aggression in Ukraine. Eight of them died in the course of their work, 31 died as combatants or as a result of Russian shelling, not while performing their journalistic duties.
