Another claim filed against “Novoe Vremya”

A businessman Volodymyr Galanteryk filed a defamation suit against the weekly “Novoe Vremya”, as Detektor Media reported on April 17th quoting Krystyna Berdynskykh, journalists of “NV”. “Volodymyr Galanteryk and a close acquaintance of Hennadiy Trukhanov, mayor of Odessa, filed a claim to Shevchenkivsky district court (in Kyiv) against the edition “Novoe Vremya””, she said. She added that another defendants are a MP Mustafa Nayem and an activist Mykhaylo Kuzakon. It was question of an article published on June 2018. The press service of the web-portal “Judicial authorities” told to “Novoe Vremya” for the time being no lawsuit of the kind has been registered. IMI informed, on April 16th, the TV Broadcasting Company “Studio 1+1” filed a lawsuit with Kyiv’s Pechersky District Court against president Petro Poroshenko and LLC Publishing House “Media-DK” (which is legal person of the weekly and web-based edition “Novoe Vremya) to protect its business reputation, demand a retraction and compensation for moral harm.
