The Minister of the Interior Arsen Avakov said that the dismissal of Chairman of the Board of the Public television and radio company of Ukraine (NSTU) Zurab Alasania was a “provocative action and an attack on the press freedom”, as he told it interviewed by DW. Avakov added that he did not found it as a good idea to dismiss the head of the public television from office two months before the presidential election. We should closely examine it, he said, “I consider this not as a dismissal, I consider this as very serious provocation and crackdown on the press freedom two months before the election”.
