Unknown persons set fire to the apartment door of the Hromadske journalist Mykola Pastukh on November 6 in Brovary (Kyiv oblast). He reported this to the IMI.

According to him, he was only minutes away from meeting the arsonist.

"It so happened that I saw the fire three minutes after it happened. I was literally minutes away from meeting the arsonist. I saw this fire first when I went up to my floor," the journalist said.

He added that, most likely, someone doused the apartment door with an incendiary liquid.

The fire department arrived at the spot promptly. The police also arrived, took upholstery samples for examination and recorded testimonies from witnesses. The apartment was not damaged.

Mykola Pastukh does not know whether the arson is connected with his reporting.

"I don't know, I have absolutely no assumptions. I have no enemies, and I thought I didn't have any until the last minute. So I cannot say," he said and added that he had not even received any death threats.
