Antimonopoly Committee will check the legality of the purchase of the ZIK TV channel

The Antimonopoly Committee (AMCU) is going to audit the purchasing of the ZIK TV channel and establishment of the media holding “Novosti”, as to "Censor.net". Yesterday, it was reported that Taras Kozak, MP from “Opposition bloc” and close to Viktor Medvedchuk , purchased ZIK channel. "From now on, the report is under verification” , as Yuriy Terentyev, head of the AMCU said. He added that no counterparty had appealed the committee. He told that the regulation stipulated the thresholds of EUR 4 million for the both parties and probably this could explain that no counterparty appealed the committee. IMI reported, on June 14 it was known that the ZIK TV channel was purchased byMP from “Oppositional block” Taras Kozak, who also owns NewsOne TV channels and 112 Ukraine and who is close to Viktor Medvedchuk. Several top managers and journalists of ZIk resigned.
