14.01.2014, 12:21

On January 10 in Lviv a group of unidentified men was preventing the journalists from filming the demolition of a landmarked building, which belonged to Metropolitan Andriy Sheptytsky’s hospital complex in Lviv. This was reported by ZIK.

In particular, the photoreporter of the ZIK informational agency Roman Baluk, who was forcefully pushed out of the yard where Sheptitsky hospital was being demolished, submitted a statement to local police on impeding of journalism activities (article 171 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). A similar statement was submitted by the photoreporter of the online news agency ‘Gal-Info’ Pavlo Palamarchuk.

For the context, in Lviv a conflict took place on Ozarkevych Street 4, where the representatives of the development company demolished the landmarked building, which belonged to Metropolitan Andriy Sheptytsky’s hospital complex. The journalists were pushed out of the hospital yard.

The head of the security company, whose employees were manhandling the journalists and architecture enthusiasts from the hospital yard, introduced himself as a police veteran Artem Komisarov.
