Aksionov: work of TV channel ATR is inadmissible

The TV channel ATR in Crimea will stop its operation for now. This was the statement the self-proclaimed “head” of Crimea Serhiy Aksionov made in Moscow. This was reported by the “Center of journalist investigations” with reference to RIA Novosti. He believes that this channel is instigating hatred between different ethnic groups in Crimea by giving hope that Crimea may return to Ukraine and thus its operation must be stopped.

The management of the TV channel АТR has submitted documents for re-registration to Roskomnadzor (Federal Service For Supervision Of Communications, Information Technology, And Mass Media) four times but failed to obtain a permit. So, on April 1, the TV channel may stop its broadcasting. Other media outlets that may stop working are the children’s TV channel “Liali”, radio stations “Meidan” and “Lider”, as well as the news website “15 khvylyn.”
