AFP expressed its concern to Stets about publication of its journalists' data at "Myrotvorets"

21.05.2016, 02:35

The Head Branch of the Agency “France Press” (AFP) sent a letter to the Minister of Informational Policy of Ukraine Yuriy Stets, in which they expressed their concern over publication of the personal data of journalists who received so-called “accreditation” in “DPR”, and accusation of thus cooperating with separatists. The Vice Minister Tetiana Popova published the text of the letter on her Facebook page, “Detector Media” reports.

The Agency “France Press” separately mentions the fact of dissemination of information about the publication at the website “Myrotvorets” ("Peace Maker") with accusations against all journalists accredited by the militants of cooperation with terrorists by the member of Parliament Anton Herashchenko (“Narodnyi Front”) as a concerning fact. The Agency counts on Ukrainian authorities safeguarding journalists who perform their professional duties.

Earlier, similar concerns were expressed by OSCE representative Dunja Mijatović, Ukrainian journalist organizations, the Ukrainian Parliament High Commissioner for Human Rights. The Ukrainian Prosecutor's office started a criminal case concerning publication of the personal data of journalists at the website "Myrotvorets".
