Rada adopted the Bill on quotas for Ukrainian-TV

March 16, - Verkhovna Rada adopted the Bill №5313 "On amendments to some laws of Ukraine concerning audiovisual language (electronic) of Mass Media" which establishes a compulsory share of Ukrainian content on television. 244 deputies voted  for this decision, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

For nationwide and regional broadcasting, the share of air-time when broadcasting is carried out in the Ukrainian language may not be less than 75 % of the total daily broadcasting time. In the period of time between 7.00 a.m. and 10.00p.m.

For local TV and radio broadcasting companies the volume of programs and films broadcast in the official language is 50%, during the same period of time during the week.
