76 women journalists in Ukraine faced prejudice to one’s rights since beginning of the year - IMI
76 women journalists have been facing prejudice to their professional rights in Ukraine since the beginning of this year. These are the data of the monthly monitoring of the Institute of Mass Information "Barometer of Freedom of Speech".
The female journalists were subjected mainly to physical aggression: threats, beatings, obstruction, damage to property. Other facts of violation of their rights were denial of access to public information, censorship and surveillance.
In total, according to IMI, 167 media professionals have suffered from violations of freedom of speech since the beginning of the year.
It will be recalled that November 25 the world community marks the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
