75% of journalists vaccinated against COVID-19 with two doses - IMI study

As of the beginning of November 2021, 75% of the interviewed journalists got vaccinated against COVID-19, another 10% got one dose. 6% of journalists are going to get vaccinated in the near future, while 9% had no intention to be vaccinated at all. 

These are the results of an anonymous targeted survey of media outlets conducted by the Institute of Mass Information on November 1–8, 2021 *.

The survey shows that 52% of journalists have already contracted the coronavirus, of which 9% have had COVID for several times. For comparison: a year ago, as of the end of 2020, according to an IMI survey , only 28% of journalists contracted the coronavirus.

Compared to a similar survey conducted with the start of quarantine in March 2020, more media professionals (12%) began to have trouble sleeping  (compared to 9% in March 2020), and depression increased slightly by 8% (compared to 7%), constantly overeat or have no appetite 6% (compared to 5% in March 2020) .

Other symptoms that may indicate emotional stress have decreased slightly, with fatigue or anger predominating (16% of journalists surveyed compared to 18% in March 2020), problems with concentration (11% vs. 13% in March 2020). ). 

The survey was conducted using an anonymous online survey using an interactive structured questionnaire, a link to which was sent to potential respondents - journalists and editors. A total of 129 responses were received from the media. 83% - respondents from the regions of Ukraine, 17% - from the city of Kyiv. 62% of women, 37% of men, 1% of the opposite sex. The study was conducted during November 1-8, 2021.
