Medvedchuk sues “Novoe Vremya”

Viktor Medvedchuk, chairman of the political council of the "Opposition Platform - For Life" party, filed a defamation lawsuit against Media DK Publishing House (Novoe Vremya newspaper, NV.ua website and Radio NV), as “Novoe Vremya” reported citing the webportal of the judicial authorities. The case is to be considered by the Podilskyi district court of Kiev. This is unknown, precisely what publication of “Novoe Vremya” caused outrage of Viktor Medvedchuk, as to the editorial board of NV. The publication does not exclude that Medvedchuk could sue them due to the article signed by Chrystyna Berdynskykh and Ivan Verstyuk “Ghosts of the past”, which was published in # 26 of July 18, 2019. “The authors spoke about inactivity of the police and the loyalty of the courts which led to situation when former MPs from “Party of Regions” and pro-Russian forces have usurped media landscape and could get the second largest representation in the Verkhovna Rada. The article also mentioned Medvedchuk,” “Novoe Vremya”’s journalists told, but not excluded the claim might be filed due to another story published by NV.
