Prosecutors read out indictment of infringement of territorial integrity of Ukraine to Vyshynsky

On April 25th, the Podilsky district court in Kyiv held third sitting within the case of head of RIA news Ukraine Kyryl Vyshinsky. The prosecutors went on reading out indictment within the criminal proceedings against Vyshinsky, as to Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty. The fragment the prosecution read out was related to charges of activity Vyshinsky had with purpose to overthrow constitutional order (article 109) and attempt against territorial integrity of Ukraine (article 110 of the Criminal code of Ukraine). The prosecution claimed that since March to May 2014, Vyshinsky published 16 articles of “anti-Ukrainian and propagandist orientation” on RIA News Ukraine web-site. IMI reported on March 26, the Podilsky district court in Kyiv extended his arrest till May 24th. On March 6th, office of public prosecutor of Autonomous republic of Crimea referred indictment to head of RIA news-Ukraine Kyryll Vyshynsky to Kyiv Podilsky district court for consideration on the merits. On May 15th, 2018, the Security Service of Ukraine reported to reveal activity of some media institutions controlled by Russia used as tool within the hybrid war against Ukraine. The SSU detained Kyryll Vyshynsky, head of RIA news Ukraine. He had been charged with high treason. First hearing within the case of Kyrylo Vyshynsky, head of the news agency RIA-novyny-Ukraine, on the merits started on April 4th, according to decision of pthe panel of judges of Podilsky district court in Kyiv.
