Director of RIA-News-Ukraine Vyshynsky sent to Kyiv

March 14th, Kyrylo Vyshynsky, suspected in high treason director of RIA-Novyny-Ukraine news agency is sent to Kyiv for trial, as to Interfax-Ukraine citing his lawyer Andriy Domansky. Vyshynsky is to attend the trial in the criminal court of review of Supreme court on March 20th, as to Domansky. The hearing is to examine Vyshynsky’s camplaint over illegality of his detention on May 2018. Later on, the Podilsky disctrict court in Kyiv is to examine his criminal indictment that the Office of public prosecutor of Crimea referred to Kyiv on March 6. The lawyer complained as well that Vyshysnsky is held in a ward with several other suspects in very bad conditions, they have no electricity, the bunk beds are broken, and they have no mattress. IMI reported that that Kyrylo Vyshynsky, who worked for news agency RIA Novosti-Ukraine, was arrested in Kiev on May 15, 2018. He had been be charged with high treason for his "subversive" reporting to justify Moscow's 2014 annexation of Crimea.
