"2+2" journalists keep receiving threats. Prosecutor’s office fails to act

The journalist of the TV channel “2+2” wokting on the program of journalist investigations “Lustrator 7.62” Iryna Matviyenko still receives threats after her stories about investigations of the land frauds in the village of Rozhivka (Brovarsky rayon, Kyivska oblast). This was reported by the program’s chief editor Vladyslas Sydorenko. The TV channel’s complaints and requests to different agencies to get the issue addressed failed.  

 IMI reported earlier that in February Iryna Matviyenko was investigating the abuse of power and fraids committed by Rozhivka village council Sofia Velychenko and Velychenko’s husband, a local council deputy attacked the filming crew and took away the operator’s camera and Matviyenko’s personal cell phone. Police failed to act. Later, the deputy accused the journalist of attacking him.
