18 people were "informed about suspicion" for obstruction to journalists - General Prosecutor's office

This year, 18 people were informed about suspicion against them based on the results of investigation of 16 criminal cases related to obstruction to legal professional activities of journalists. This is the report published on the website of the General Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine. In total, 8 cases were sent to the court; for two cases, the court procedure is pending. Three conclusions to indict were made on the criminal cases related to this particular crime.

In total in 2015, the Prosecutor's office managed the procedures in criminal procedures related to 221 crime related to obstruction to legal professional activities of journalists that were investigated by the police. In 77 cases, the cases were closed as the fact of criminal offence was not confirmed.
