1+1 says police lost journalists’ complaint about people chasing and attacking them. Police denies

18.04.2016, 14:58

The TV channel 1+1 claims that law enforcement agencies informed them that they lost the complaint of the journalists of “Secret materials” about people chasing and attacking them. They claim that these were the words of the representative of the Chief Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to the journalists during a phone conversation, as it is stated at the 1+1 website.

The channel reminds that on April 1 after a chase and attack against the 1+1 journalists Yaroslav Buhakov and Volodymyr Siliakov, they filed a relevant complaint to the police. After that, the journalists were called "for a conversation" to the police, where police representatives assured the journalists that their suspicions that the unknown men tailing them were from law enforcement agencies, are not true. It also became clear that, in spite of availability of the footage documenting the attack and showing the number plates of the car the attacker used, the police did not conduct any actions to identify them.

The police replied that the case "could not possibly have been lost" and "maybe it was just transferred from district department elsewhere". They are trying to clarify now what really happened with the case.
