Rebuilding Ukraine: Strong Media, Secure Investments, Transparent Recovery, an event marking the launch of the Independent Fund for the Reconstruction of Ukrainian Media (IFRUM), will take place in London on Friday, 19 September.
The Fund is launched by the international watchdog Reporters Without Borders and Ukrainian organisations: Institute of Mass Information, Lviv Media Forum, Detector Media, DII-Ukraine, Recovery Window, Media Development Foundation. The Fund has already received support from the European Union.
The Russian invasion of Ukraine had a disastrous impact on the media. According to the Institute of Mass Information, at least 333 media outlets have ceased operations due to the war. 111 media workers have been killed since 2022, of whom 12 were killed while reporting.

Ukraine’s media sector requires support to properly play its role in recovery and the democratic process.
The Fund launch event will feature a film screening, a photo exhibition, workshops, networking with Ukrainian journalists and media stakeholders.
Date and time: Friday, 19 September, 10:30 – 15:30.
Address: European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Five Bank Street, London, E14 4BG
