Lutsk journalist complained about obstruction by law enforcement officers

On February 8 in Lutsk, representatives of the police, during the searches they conducted in Lutsk National Technical University were obstructing the work of the filming crew of TV channel 12 - journalist Kateryna Pavlova and cameraman Maksym Saliy. This was part of the story broadcasted by the channel. Also, law enforcement officers threatened to start criminal cases against journalist for disseminating the secret of the investigation, yet refused to tell the journalists their names and show their IDs. “Any information that will be covered in mass media, will be considered breach of secrecy of pre-trial investigation. According to the Criminal Code of Ukraine, this entails criminal responsibility now. I am not obliged to introduce myself to you”, one of the officers said. Kateryna Pavlova, the journalist, filed a written complained on obstruction to journalist activities. She added that  the cameraman was pushed by the police officers, but they did not take his camera and did not touch her. In his comment for Channel 12, the head of Lutsk police department Oleh Kitchuk reported that in the premises of the University a sanctioned search was sanctioned search as a part of criminal case regarding illegal intervention into the work of computers by group of people.
