The most part of jeansa in national online media outlets would be commissioned by Yulia Tymoshenko (25%) and Opposition platform-For Life (23%), as to content analysis fulfilled by Institute of Mass Information (IMI), backed by the Council of Europe project “Strengthening freedom of media, access to information and reinforcing public broadcasting system in Ukraine”.
Thus, the president election campaign is launched in the nation online mass media, contrary to the regional press. During one week from the 19th to 25thof November, IMI experts analyzed 10 popular online mass media outlets and revealed 284 stories having characteristics of being sponsored, 71% among them were politically oriented.
Thus, anti-leaders in this list are Obozrevatel (65 % stories would be politically sponsored), 112.ua (46 stories).
No sponsored story revealed at Ukrayinska Pravda. NV.ua site had some stories badly labeled. In all, only 19% of stories having the characteristics of being sponsored were labeled as publicity. But the labeling was unclear to reader and was not corresponding to the legislation, so the experts stated it was inappropriate labeling.
This survey covered the news feed of 10 national mass media: 24tv.ua, segodnya.ua, obozrevatel.com, tsn.ua, Pravda.com.ua, 112.ua, unian.ua, nv.ua, rbc.ua, strana.ua.
