Armed gunmen took over the building of Luhansk Oblast State TV and Radio Company, Radio Liberty reports.

Armed men in camouflage drove to the building and after negotiations with the company’s director Rodion Miroshnyk asked the staff to leave. They were wearing the St.George’s ribbon and had a Russian flag on their car.  One of the gunmen said that that they were closing the channel down and it would work in a different format.

Both the oblast radio and TV channel are off air; the local radio station ‘Puls’  is not working, either.

Rodion Miroshnyk, the director general of Luhansk Oblast State TV and Radio Company, refused to comment the situation for Radio Liberty.
